The goal of the Health Program at Union School is to promote wellness, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle for all of our students. Our school nurse, Ms. Betty Smith, partners with teachers to provide students important information pertaining to disease prevention, physical fitness, nutrition, and injuries.
At Union School, Ms. Betty Smith maintains a full-time clinic to ensure that students are well taken care of in the event of an illness or injury. Our clinic features two beds and a welcoming environment where students can go for anything from a scraped knee to hurt pride. The clinic provides first aid, is capable of dispensing minor medications (only with parents’signed consent upon admission to our school), and monitors children who develop more serious maladies until they are able to be taken to the doctor or home. Ms. Betty Smith, a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the United States who has been practicing nursing for nearly 50 years, lends a willing ear to students’ grievances while she treats minor injuries.
